Massive Haul

In just 1 week I will be at reading festival! So I thought it was about time I do some shopping for it.

I thought that I would first of all get the essentials down, so I went to Argos. I managed to find everything I needed for reasonable prices. My tent cost me £19.99, my sleeping bag was £16.99 and my rucksack was £17.99. All in all I got everything that I wanted for about £50 and got 10% back in a voucher!

My next stop was boots, I picked up this Maybelline blue eyeliner, I have tried it out once and it is quite waxy and a little bit harder to use then what I am used to. I found that framing it with black eyeliner and using a made it look so much better than just the blue on its own.
(A tutorial may be coming soon!)

I also got myself the Soap and Glory Archery, Brow Tint and Pencil. I have a feeling that this is going to take me a while to get used to as I normally use the Urban Decay Brow Box, which is a powder. I have never used a brow pencil before... ever. So this is a completely new thing for me. I have heard such great things about this little sucker so I thought I would give it a whizz!

The last thing I got from Boots is this L'Oreal Dream Magic BB. The amazing thing about this (or at least I think it's pretty cool) is that when you squeeze it out of the bottle it is white... then as you blend it into the skin is gives out some colour. However, after using it I found it makes me very orange as I have the palest skin, ever.

I also did some online shopping at asos and boohoo... And spent way too much.

I got these beautiful trousers from boohoo. They remind me of vintage china print, they have a zip on the side and are a stretchy fabric so they are super comfy!

I also got the top, it's a basic black swing top and it goes with the trouser I bought so nicely.

Getting in to the festival spirit, I got this bumbag.
I wanted something to keep everything safe, so I thought a bum bag was the best decision.

I bought these beautiful sunglasses, they are sort of a tortoise shell effect on the top.

I got these beautiful shoes from New Look, they were in the sale and a bargain at £10!

On the subject of shoes, I bought these wells from Asos. They are Cath Kidson and weren't a bad price either. They come with this bag so when they get muddy they are separate from the rest of your stuff.

Winged Eyeliner Tutorial

Winged eyeliner has been a pain since I first started out with make up properly. It is still time consuming and aggrovating but I thought I would share some tips that have made it a little easier for me.

I found it so much easier using a eyeliner felt tip pen rather than an actual liquid liner. My favourite at the moment is the Soap and Glory 'Super Cat' liner, the pointed tip makes it so easy to get your eyeliner precise and if you use the side of it, it makes it easy to line the lash line. One pointer though, if you have eyes that water and you wipe away tears this eyeliner will smudge, another great eyeliner is the Benefit gel liner, this will not budge all day but does take some getting use too. And it is also quite pricey. But at the end of the day, it will be you applying it so find something that works for you.

I start by making a line out of the corner of my eye, as if the water line was continuing out. I like to do that on both eyes and make them as equal as possible before carrying on. If you make a mistake, don't worry get a cotton bud or I like to use a Simple eye make up remover pen and just go over your mistake.

Once they are as equal as possible I start on one eye, lining the lash line. I start from the line I just made and then make little movements with the pen all the way in and down to the tear duct. The line going down from the tear duct, you want to make a thin as possible. This makes it more natural looking and I think it looks better than having a thick line all the way across.

I then slightly tilt the pen and use this thicker edge to go over the lash line. I find that doing this quickly and in one movement is more effective but if you are not as confident take your time and do little dashes all the way doing then join it up. Then I just perfect the look, I decided to make my flick a little longer on each side and made sure it was completely equal.

For this particular look, I used a matte brown in the crease to give my eye some more shape, and then finished off by using bronzer, blush, mascara and lipstick.
